I cared since I have an interest on the cultural / historical impact of LSD. Syd Barret and his intense experimation with LSD had a significant impact on music.

I did! Great poet and musician. Pink Floyd Uma Guma was an awesome album. To be honest though I was surprised he had been released from the asylum. The story was that he did 47 drops of pure liquid LCD and freaked out forever but it turns out that he was released many years ago. I'm glad. I always had a disturbing picture in my head of him in a straight jacket sitting in the corner of a rubber room drooling. I'm glad that was just in my head.

well, i'm not a big fan of Pink Floyd, but i guess somebody cared, like his family,friends,bandmates,etc.
