scat can be a few things a types of music with a lot of nonsense words or a poop it all depended on how they use the word for instants the scat the the cat did smelled bad. is poop the scat the singer did was fly. is music hoped it help you out

I don't know if the people at work are using it this way, but "scat" is the thing that jazz singers do when they don't really sing but do something like "bee ba dee ba do bla dibi bla...". It isn't just when they add this type of "enhancement" to a jazz song. Its when the whole song or a very large part of it is nothing but sounds like that. A famous person was "Scat Man Crothers" (I don't know if I spelled his name right. He was around years ago.)
