Should I like start practicing stuff such as math and science and other things for 7th grade, or should I just wait and practice while im officially in school? I don't know what to study, so should I refresh my mind or not? because I forgot about like everything this year, and remember like the basics.

If you want to, sure why not.

Rather than go to websites, though, I'd go to the library and select books about the topics that interest you. I have a casual interest in Chemistry, so I picked up a few books and went through some of the experiments with my children. Also, I found a mathematics book targeted for your age group which I found I learned some things from. The title of the book is "The Number Devil".

If you are interested in math and science, the better course would be to read about what you are interested in as I have said. Alternatively, you could visit some museums, go to overnight science camp, or a day camp offered by your local college or recreation department. Also if you are interested in history, visiting some local historical sites is fun too.

BTW... if you are interested in math, if you don't play already, chess is a great game to play. It will keep you sharp for problem solving.

What I liked to do when I was in college is get the text book of the subjects I was going to take and just read them through before I took the class. I didn't always understand what I was reading at the time but It helped me a great deal with the learning process once I was in the class. I made the Presidents List and got all A,s except for 1 B. I don't consider myself especially smart. It's just that having read the texts before hand made it all seem more familiar to me when in the classroom.

Yes. It never hurts to practice.

1. You should read books for comprehension.

2. You should write a letter to your grandparents, other relatives, or friends about you summer. Write 3 paragraphs with one subject per paragraph. Make certain you have you have a beginning and an ending (conclusion). Finally, check for grammar.

3.Pre-Algebra: Understand what variables are. Check out www.purplemath.com. There you should study how to solve one step equations. Master how to solve fractions, and review geometry - angles, volume, square area....

The fact that you are interested in getting a head start is a great sign for future success... :)

Well, I'm sure the teachers will go over what you learned last year in the 6th grade, because that is what 7th grade is, it's basically review of 6th grade and you learn a little more here and there. If you want to warm up on your skills go ahead but if you don't want to that is perfectly fine.

you should start practicing
how much you want to practice depends how smart you want to be starting the year

besides if you know everything you're going to learn, you can sleep in class or something and still be able to get good grades

my parents are making me practice my math since i will also be in 7th grade, but i'm taking a ninth grade math course

i can tell you if you're taking Pre Algebra or Algebra I you should practice integers and fractions

try google for websites

I teach and also tutor middle school and high school. Here are some websites I utilized this past school year while tutoring (and also some I just now found). Hang on them for future reference!

http://www.aaamath.com/B/grade7.htm (Math help)

http://www.factmonster.com/homework/

http://www.mrshurleysesl.com/homeworkhelp.html

Even though they say, "homework" help, you can review different subjects, too.

Personally, I would advise you to just enjoy the rest of your summer and maybe take in a few good books before school starts.
If you need some good book suggestions, let me know (add detail to question) and I will submit those, too.

Enjoy 7th grade!!

It will help to keep your grades up, if you do a bit of practice beforehand. Go to your local public library, and see if you can find books labelled "Pre-Algebra Math" and "Science" that look like textbooks. Check the foreward of the books to see if they're right for your age/grade. If they are, leaf through them. You just might learn something.

Also, if you're interested in science, check out any books on biology, chemistry, physics, whatever, that look interesting. Leaf through those too.

I'm an eighth grade teacher, and I would just say wait until school starts. Your teachers will review, and you'll be amazed how much you'll remember. If I had one thing to tell you, I'd say to read books over the summer. There are hundereds of thousands out there, and many of them are in your areas of interest/will catch your interest. Good luck in 7th grade!

I would say no because then u would know everthing and that would be so boring i enter into seventh grade on the 24 of AUg. And my parents make me do the same the i hate i would rather learn in school than spend a whole year reviewing what i already know.

Study........I think you guys are out of school too long for the summer then they have to spend a month to refresh you before going on. So study the basics and what you learned last year.
