Because many people are very passionate about the answers they're giving and are more worried about making their point than about spelling correctly. Either that or it is a mere typographical error, rather than a true misspelling.

I rarely use the spell check, but then, my spelling is FAR above average. But I don't condemn those who spell poorly. We all have different talents and strengths.

Try to focus on the message rather than nitpicking about grammar and spelling. Ironically, you've proven with your own message that spell check is not fool proof.

I believe that the web environment is the only place where the lack of spell check has actually created a language. That's why people rarely use it. It would really take a long time to check something that has things like "whatva", "l8ta", "yw" , and "lmao" as desired words.

I've often wondered that myself. I use it even when I know I've spelled everything right. Just habit I guess. I think a lot of people are just in a hurry. Misspellings don't bother me as long as I get the gist of what they're saying.
