below 25 and stock? none...invest in a little more and get an EVO, in my opinion the best stock car to race around. Unless you want to put some money in it, then just get any domestic sports...pure power. If you have extra money in it...don't get an 06...go for a 94 RX7 or last generation Supra. If you're going 06 models...you basically only have 2 options...either an WRX STI or Lancer EVO...in which case both are over 25k... You might spring for a used S2K and invest a few grand under the hood...but bone stock under 25k...none. But then you want street legal...so practically bone stock...get a domestic power house car...like a mustang. You're not gonna be able to get an import...costs too much up front...and need to invest a lot more after purchase. You could get a Scion TC and get the turbo package and it'll be under 25k...it'll come around 22k then you can also add small improvements...but under 25k it'll be difficult...good luck

Mazda's new MX-5. There's now a spec racing series out there for these that is very cheap to compete in - at least compared to other racing events for new cars. I am not sure if you can quite afford the car AND the mods needed for that class on your budget. But anything else you buy new is going to require too many mods to be budget friendly, unless you want to run in SCCA Showroom Stock.

Why stick to 2006 models? As Mad Dog said in Cannonball Run, "If you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly!" If you are serious about racing - if you have any visions of running it flat out around Laguna Seca or Road Atlanta against dozens of other cars - you are going to need to do huge amounts of maintenance anyway. At the very minimum, you'll probably go through a set of brakes every race. Are you sure you wouldn't want to start with something like an Improved Touring car? Because on your budget, you are going to have a much easier time building a competative car if you are willing to start with something used.

Stock? I'd say the Honda Civic Si and the Acura RSX Type S.
I think that's within your price range. Both come with @ least 200HP Stock!
Oh, the Scion tC comes with 160HP and the 4-cyl Accord does too.

Also, I've fallen in love with the Accord V6, but I think that's hitting $30K. I love it because it comes with 240HP!! It'd be a great sleeper, if you can make it lighter.

Now if you had about $10K+ more, definetely go for the EVO. It handles better than the Subaru.

Personally, I don't like domestics when it comes to street racing. I just feel they lack reliability. So I won't recommend any.

Good luck!

you are able to deploy chilly air intakes, get aftermarket headers, get an o.e.m exhaust gadget, placed a short on your vehicle, and some different engine artwork. I discovered my stuff by ability of taking area in video games, and staring at horsepower television on Spike television. you are able to study those products by ability of going to JC whitney, and studying about what certain aspects do for your vehicle.
