Has anyone tried just NOT paying a parking ticket on a rental car?

No they will not track YOU down. They will issue the bill to the rental car company who will debit your credit card for the fine and add a fee.
Read you rental agreement.

The ticket would not be to you, it would be the owner of the car, the rental agency. So they would get charged with the ticket and when you sign off to rent a car I am sure they have a disclaimer in it saying you assume responsibility for all traffic violations. Then when they find out it would take seconds for them to find out who rented it when the ticket was issued.

No. But the rental car company will get a ticket, and charge you for the ticket on your credit card that you used to make the depoit and pay with. So, you will have a big fine to pay.

yea, but just cancel that credit card you used to rent the car - hahhah. Then the rental agency will bill you.. Throw those bills in the garbage - hahahha... I like the way you think!

Cancelling a credit card to avoid satisfying a contract is a form of felony fraud in most states. Additionally, the credit card company may report the act to credit reporting companies. The risk of felony charges and a credit hit do not seem worth it.
