average weight is 100 lbs for 5'0" and then add 5 pounds per inch. so, for 5'5"...125 is "average" but to determine a "healthy" body weight, you can add or subtract 14 lbs from the "average"
So, conclusion...i think you're "normal"?! it's up to you to decide if that's a good/bad thing. Personally, i like to be different. Especially in the growing trend of obesity in this country.

No you are not fat....it is a shame that you feel that way. Really trust me you are not fat. I was about that when I was your age. ALSO- you need to remember muscle weighs more than fat!!! From what you say you are athletic.
Society says that you are , Hollywood says that you are teen magazines say you are , &some of your classmates might say you are...boys especially, but they have been brainwashed by society and hollywood and teen magazines. YOU ARE NOT FAT!!!
First I want you to look at yourself differently .... dont look in the mirror to criticize what you see look and find something you like about yourself. Next if you are, I want you to stop comparing yourself to other girls, the wrong way. I want you to look at other girls and see thay are the same as you really, and most important I want you to realize that the other girls are asking the same question, they have the same insecurity. You are not alone.
You are young yet you will be changing alot in the next year even don't worry about this, there are lots of other things to fuss over. I am old.... and a mom...I wish I had my teenage body back... I used to think the same thing you do... BOY was I WRONG!!!!!

It doesn't sound as if you are. You're at the age when you're going to worry about how you look compared to your friends. If you are athletic, you're not going to be petite, and you don't need to be. An athletic build is nothing to be ashamed of. You're going to need all the muscle (and any bulk on your body will be muscle, not fat, and muscle weighs more than fat) you have to participate in your sports. Don't worry about being heavy. You're not fully grown yet, so worry about your weight when you're around twenty, not fourteen. Here's a little thought for you. My big sister is very athletic, and she turns heads wherever she goes! She does martial arts, aerobics, soccer, and rock climbing, and she has muscle you can see, and she's certainly not petite, but the other day a guy fell off his chair looking at her! Like I said; you're fine, and it's likely that guys notice you! Good luck, hon.

You probably have an athletic build - which is not fat!
Your weight doesn't sound out of line with your height.
You are 14 and still a growing girl - be healthy and happy that you are involved with sports. I am sure you get quite a workout playing basketball, and you need to eat enough calories to play well. Don't compare - but be happy with yourself.

(This is kind of a long post, but I hope it's worth it!!)
I am in the exact same place!!! I am fourteen, 5'5"i weigh 128 (130 on some days) and i am always self concious about my wieght!!! (its scary the likeness)!!! Well i asked my doctor and she explained all of these charts and data about the average fourteen year old female and we are about average!!! (Just a little taller, I believe) I am athletic also, I do alot of volleyball and swimming, and my doctor said if i keep up my excercise then i should be perfectly healthy and even on the skinny side.
My friends are also skinny (you know, the stick skinny where the middle is like the size of a coin), but a lot of them are really self concious about it becasue they are so bony. If your friends aren't, congratulate them on being skinny, but congratulate yourself on having curves!!!

You are a perfectly appropriate body weight for your height. It sounds like you are well proportioned, and due to your athleticism, you are likely well-toned. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than adipose!!! Everyone is built differently.

Sounds perfect to me. You may weight more than others your age, but then you are athletic, they may just be naturally very thin.
You certainly have no worries in the weight department.
Take care : )

Do a BMI. I hate the media for making young women well actually all women question how beautiful they are. Don't you realize that some guy will think your the most beautiful person in the world?

You are what you think. Start thinking about something other than being fat, or skinny, or imperfect in any way. Start thinking of a solution for the problem of Iraq
