I'll give you food for thought here. You can love someone very much on the other hand you still love them, but you might hate their actions. you don't hate the person, you hate what they are doing .(example: drinking excessively) or whatever. I don't think you can say i hate you and turn around and say I love you.
Do you get my reasoning here,?

Love comes in a variety of forms...perhaps you can not LOVE others , I mean as a "family -love" until you fall in LOVE and LOVE your MATE......one love.
I think you can have a strong caring for people and hope that, well hope that we can all do the right things.
I think when we say the word "hate" we should all try to be thinking about "what" it is we HATE...meaning to say "I hate your actions/attitude" is different from saying "I hate you"...but it is true that there is a fine line then I mean most of us would probably say that we HATE a guy whose actions totally consist of raping and beating others...so well....
Around the turn of the turn of the century I changed my lifestyle

I apparently disagree with all the other answers so far... As far as I'm concerned if you love someone you love them, if you hate them you hate them. You can love someone and be temporarily angry at them, but that's not hate. You can hate someone but see that they have something good about them or have done something nice for you, but that's not love. You can love someone but not like something they did or have done, but that's not hate. As far as I have seen, if you love someone you never question it and if you hate someone you never question that. There's something very wrong if you can't sort out these simple emotions, and you should either separate from such a conflicting relationship or else talk to a counselor. People like to believe emotions are complicated, but genuine love and geniune hate are quite simple.

Love is Love, But when it comes to hating that someone I think that you are hating the circumstances that have occured to make you feel that way. Hate is a very strong feeling and word.

Absolutely!!!!!! I moved from Chicago to southern Indiana to get away from someone that I truly do love. It just wasn't good anymore. I will never forget him and still talk to him occasionally. If I hadn't left I would have only hated him but now I still love him and think of him fondly and wish him all the best always with sincerity.

Hate is a very strong word and feeling. I now save it for things that I truly hate. I really dont believe in hate much at all - probably as much as I now believe in love.
You can be angry - but you probably let it go for various reasons.

most definitely as the old song goes "It's a thin line between love and hate" but keep in mind you may only hate the things that have happened not really the individual

I think the saying "it's a short line between love and hate" is said for a reason.

Yes, particularly in matters of the heart. Because, ultimately, and admittedly sadly, love involves all kinds of projections and people generally will only love someone as long as they are getting exactly what they want.

I think so... I love my boyfriend very much, but he cheated and lied and sometimes I do hate him. He is wonderful, just not when it comes to me. So, yeah, you can feel those things at the same time.
