I'll assume that you are using Internet Explorer. If that is the case, you can fix that by doing the following:
Close all browser windows but one.
Open a new window from a link on the remaining window.
Close the old window (not the new one that just opened up).
Adjust the window to be the size you want all the new windows to be (you cannot use the maximize button for this, you have to actually change the size of the window to be what you want the windows to automatically open up as).
Hold down the Ctrl key while closing the window.
From now on, all your new windows should open up to that size until perform a similar process telling IE that you want all new windows to be the new size.
Most likely what occured is that you manually sized a window to that size, closed it, and IE remembered that as your preferred window size.

Next time when you close it, make sure that it is maximized. Explorer has this weird thing of remembering the last position and the size of the last window closed (but not always for some stupid reason).

This often occurs when it has remembered the last resize (x,y coordinates) of the browser. Do the following:
- Open the browser
- Rather than maximizing it, use your mouse to drag the corners of the browser until it reaches the size you want it to be
- Maximize the browser
- Close the browser
- Open the browser and that should have resolved it.

Right click the "e" Explorer button on your quick launch task bar. Click properties. On the next screen, click on the shortcut tab.
In Run drop down menu, click Maximized. Click apply, and then OK.
This works when clicking on Internet Explorer in the start menu also. It doesn't work with the Explorer Icon on the desktop.

Try holding down the Shift key when you max. the window.
This worked on Windows 98SE and may work on XP ?
Good Luck

i for my area won't drink out of a soda can. that's a quirk I even have. I wipe off the precise, pop it and pour it right into a tumbler of ice. If i've got not got a tumbler of ice obtainable......i've got not got a soda.
