I met him and was in a photo shoot in the S.F Chronicle in ' 67 or '68...I was either 11or 12 at the time...you can imagine how I was elated to see the ; "Yankee Clipper " annnway. I didn't get an autograph and I always felt like;
" What gives you know ?
I have the greatest amt. of respect for Joe
and this is a big shout out to his family..
Right-on !
Think I'll have that cup of 'Joe' and reminisce on
'Ol Joey 'D'

Yes but only for money. He never gave one free. After his playing days he incorporated himself. He actually became his own business. In other words his post baseball occupation became being Joe DiMaggio. He never did anything unless he got paid for it. Every appearance he made, even for the Yankees was negotiated first. DiMaggio was a very unpopular person among his piers and died a very lonely man. He felt the fans owed him for his 13 year baseball career for the rest of his life.

he only signed a few which is why his autograph is so expensive...if you didnt already know that the fewer autographs you sign...the more valueable it will in the future
