You really don't need to do anything special. Most people, like policemen and military men can actually iinfluence young people by helping others, while in uniform. Teachers influence students with the fact they have education and they show they really care. Be yourself and have the intelligence and fortitude to make a difference. ( that is influence)

"We, as fellow human beings, are remarkedly similar in most words and/or actions we use to influence others."
"Even though you asked for answers to your question, I firmly believe you already know most of the answers you need."
"In all my attempts to influence anyone with words and/ or actions, I know most of the words and actions which influence me in one or another direction. Since I am no different than millions of others we can all be influenced by the same methods.
Probably, the most important and relative method to influence me is the use of reason. I, and everyone else I've know, respond most favorably (influenced) when they receive the right reason from my words or actions."

This has been much thought about. The best method is not to use an argument, but to create a context in which the individual can draw the conclusion you want them to draw by themselves, w.o. verbal intervention. As to Carnegie, these type of behaviors will largely bore complex individuals.

Read the book by Dale Carnegie--"How to Win Friends and Influence People."

I have seen the principles in that book applied in many situations and have applied them myself and they always work.
