Parker Brothers owns the intellectual rights to produce a game named Monopoly. So, yes, in a sense they have a monopoly on production of the game Monopoly. However you can find imitation Monopoly games such as "Christmas in a Box." These games use nearly exactly the same rules and play styles as Monopoly but lack the name and the Parker Brother's logo.

Because Parker Brothers own the rights to Monopoly. Through the years there have been special editions of the game, like Texasopoly, based on the state of Texas, but only one licence to the game itself.
And yes it is a monopoly.

Because Parker Brothers has the trademark and copyright to make Monopoly. Sadly, you also failed in your attempt at creating irony since the game of Monopoly is pretty much pro-monopoly.

They have a patent on it. They have the rights to be the only people producing the game. It's not a monoploy because other companies can make board games, even though they aren't exactly the same game.

Because they own the rights to it. Just like you don't see anyone other than Coca-cola selling Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper.
