A pint of Diet Coke and a plate of cauliflower and brocolli. Will have you chuffing like a cow after a chicken vindaloo.

lie flat on your back on the floor, legs straight out. lift one leg and hug the knee into your stomach gently. Hold this position for a few minutes. Then swap legs and do the same again holding the other knee. Sometimes works straight away. sometimes takes a few goes. Also, walk around gently to move things about after holding this position. Is particularly good for wind when pregnant but works for all ages and all conditions.

A long soak in a warm bath massaging your belly at the same time. This worked wonders for me when I had a bad case of trapped wind in pregnancy.

Avoid high fibre food such as, dried fruit, bran, cereals, and also bread. Also here is a very good method which I use myself : Get down on your hands and knees and stick your bum up in the air. The position you'll be in is as if you were looking under the couch or bed for something.

Boiled water is a great one. If that doesn't work then try Peppermint (either mints or Peppermint Cordial)
