Everyone of these answers if fvkking retarded except for the one above me. Nobody seems to know what melodic death metal is.

The BEST new band to play melo-death is ARSIS and I highly reccomend them.

Seconding the suggestions of Carcass (check out the album Heartwork) and Kalmah.

i like In Flames, not a big fan of Morbid Angel, but people say they're good, uhh, i don't know if this classifies as melodic death metal, but i like Eighteen Visions, probably not the most hard-core metal, but their songs are freakin awesome, like their song "who the f*ck killed john lennon?" and "tonightless" and their newest one "victim" umm, another metal band that i think is good is Underoath, they're Christains, and they're songs are pretty good, which just made me think of another metal band that's partially Christian, just not the lyrics, As I Lay Dying, they're cool, and i guess i'm going off the top of my head, uhhh.... Mastadon, haven't heard alot from them but from what i heard of them is pretty good, ( please don't say I'm a scene kid, i hate that) and i think Avenged Sevenfold is pretty good, a little too mainstream for me, but i like some of their stuff.... good luck, and i like ur music! ☺
