most places want at the least a years experience but most want 2. you have to keep your driving record clean since that's what they look at first. [after a year or 2 driving]
but before all that... to get started, if you know of a driving school, that will be the best place to find your first job & get that experience. [they usually have recruiters at the school] you won't make as much money at first but you'll get your experience.

just a little advice... if you have little children at home, look for another line of work! the kids need to see you & once time passes by... there's NO getting it back!

GREATEST LUCK TO YOU & God Bless!

I am assuming you are talking about a Class A CDL. You can try to work for a local freight company like yellow, roadway, con-way. These companies are really busy and are always looking for drivers. As long as you have a clean driving record they will hire you. If you are a lazy bum and all you want to do is drive then don't waste your time peddling freight. It pays pretty good 9 times out of 10 better than all them rip-off OTR companies and you will be home every night.
