Cats are best. They give love and appreciate love in return. They are easy to care for and you can find apartment living with a pet is easier if you have a cat than a dog. Dogs are ok if you have the time necessary to devote to them because they need their human to feel right with themselves. Dogs get so lonely when you are at work. Cats do miss you when your gone but they are not as possessive as dogs. And lets not forget about the other pets that give you pleasure like fish, ferrets, birds, turtles, hampsters and snakes. Some people don't fit into the cat or dog catagory at all. CATS RULE!!

Dogs are way more maintenance than cats and have to be trained. Love them, but really, they are more work. A cat doesn't have to be trained to poop in a box. A cat doesn't need to be walked. A cat can get rid of mice and rats. I love dogs, but don't have the extra time dogs require. Dogs come when you call them, cats take a message and get back to you later.

Dogs! I mainly don't have a cat because my husband is allergic to them. I still prefer dogs, though. In my opinion, they're more fun and they have more personality. Bigger dogs can be guard dogs. Most cats are selfish whereas most dogs seem to actually care about their owners and people in general. They seem to care when you get home, they're loyal, etc. I've never seen a cat even care when you get home from somewhere or even come in a room for that matter.

I'd so cats because you don't have to worry about being home in time to take them out and they don't bark.also you can have cats in a small space like an apartment where a dog might find it too small and not have a very good life. But dogs are very fun.

Either... it depends on what you want out of a pet. If you need a pet who can pretty much take care of themselves and wants to snuggle on occasion, get a cat. If you want to walk, play, bathe, and truly interact with a pet, get a dog. If you get a dog, though, be sure to establish right away that you are the 'pack leader' and you will have no problems! I love all kinds of animals, so I couldn't tell you which I think is the best.. I've had horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, guinnea pigs, hamsters, birds, turtles, and fish as pets in the past, and I love something about all of them! :)

Cats...but only Servals or Savannahs...they are close to being a dog but a little less dependent on me..so if i dont come home one nite they will be ok...my two savannahs are the size of boxers and weigh just as much..they also play fetch and walk on leash...and people are always asking if they are part leopard or cheetah.

Both....cats r easier to take care of and will sleep wit u at nite and will sit on ur lap. Dogs provide u with a true companion who will protect u and play wit u.

dogs because they are as cute as cats and are more loyal then cats. cats tend to be more independent whereas dogs are more friendly. it also depends if you want a pet who is independent or friendly and plays with you. If you want a friendly pet, I 'd say a dog, if you want a pet that is independent and does what it wants, a cat!
