I suggest you to back up your data on ur computer in case if ur updating from a CD. Even if ur updating online from microsoft's website, please dont take a risk.

No, you will not loose anything. You can download sp-2 from the internet, or you can order a cd, with sp-2 on it, for free. They don't even charge you for postage. That's what I did, then if you ever need it again, you will have it handy. You can pass it around to your family and friends..click it>>

I dont think you will lose your docs and pics but my tech guy had to uninstall the darn SP2 pack because it caused my system to crash all the time. He says stay away from it.

You won't lose anything. To be on the safe side you can save your documents and pictures in D, E or F partition in your hard drive.

Usually that is a NO.....But under some rare circumstances, it is possible...

Backup your docs and pictures anyway, just in case if the update causes a fatal error (like a system failure)....

Play it safe and backup your important stuff.

Bootleg or legal, you keep your files... pics, docs, the whole 9 yards.. but, sp2 is something downloaded from microsoft.com, so, it's going to be a legal copy. sheesh
