Well, do you think/wish to be with that person for the rest of your life (married)?

Do you often think of them in romantic situations (dates, in bed, etc)?

Would you make love to them?

They are the same thing to an extent. I assume you mean romantic love between a person and their significant other or would-be significant other. The best way is to talk to the person in mind about how you feel and how they feel because romantic loves and friendships are both relationships, meaning that there are at least two people engaged in the partnership, wether it be romantic or friendship based. It would take both of you to determine the relationship between you, for romance or friendship.
*I have said this under the assumption that you had a specific person in mind. If not, well, maybe just understand the point and try to apply it to your problem.

Ask her out and see if she kicks you in the nuts.

Now, seriously.. She if she reacts to you in a way that only a good friend would do when they are in a great mood all the time. She should give you lots of hints, but there is no way to know for sure.. If you can then just get over her. If you cant get over her then take a leap of faith and hope the valuables dont get busted.

My thought on this is........Love you cant wait to be with them, you miss them when they are away, you do things together and enjoy every minute with them. You can't image them not being in your life.

Friends...you have a great time together, spend time talking etc. but do not think of them every moment of the day and can't wait till you see them again.

Depends on how you view the idea of future existence with or without the other person.

There are at least four, Greek words that mean love. Unfortunately, English has only one word, and this creates your confusion.

eros, physical love
philia, brotherly love
agape, Christian love

Love is unconditional. If you love someone then you'll love them forever no matter what happens. Friendship is similar to love, just one step down.
Oh, one more thing: If you truly Love someone then you would be willing to do anything for them, even die for them.
