You can go to the local appraisal district for a start, but their estimates are usually on the low side. There are independent appraisers that you can pay to do an appraisal. If your financing the house then the bank will make sure an appraisal is done.

An appraiser can do it for a fee.
Many communities have county web sites that list parcel sales in a certain area, this should give you an idea as to the sales values of homes near yours.

Many realtor sites have the same info as well, houses that are being sold or sold in your neighborhood.


A good realtor can also give you an idea on the value based on MLS comparisons they do.

ask for a copy of the appraisal. it should be on file. If not go to the tax office and ask what the appraised value on the property is. then add about 22% of that and you will get an approximate amount that it would sell for.
