You might also like Old Krakow, out in West Portal. It's primariliy Polish, but does also serve a sampling of other types of Eastern European cuisine, and the menu changes from time to time. It's always packed, you will need a reservation for dinner.

I have been hoping to find one for years but without luck.

There used to be a dreadful place in Bernal Heights that served Hungarian cuisine, but one imagines the health inspectors discovered it and shut it down. The food was inedible but the jazz was good.

Try Bistro E in the Mission. I've heard it is good, but I've never eaten there.
