I am using Dish Network and have just discovered that i need a usb to ide converter to adapt the hard drive to my laptop. But If I get all of the files are they encrypted?

It is not quite as fun, but you can use a VCR.

Your question is not clear. If you are using Dish Network, and have a problem, call the company that installed the dish for you or call Dish Network directly at 1-888-284-7116.

Well I know with Tivo you can pull the shows off the DVR right to the PC and watch them. I would assume if you can pull the shows off then they shouldn't be encrypted at all.
