I've been to Japan, and Japan is a richer country than ours, because the technology is more advanced, better healthcare, Japanese students have better Education, and the food in restaurants are more sanitized; They have construction workers that are workaholics and keep building better buildings, and they have the time to spice it up with nice lights with different colors.
since the food is healthier in Japan, the average Japanese lifespan is between 80-85 both male and female, some reach to be over the centenarian lifespan, some live to be 110.

You have to ask Yourself, which one is More in Debt. Since USA is much MUCH more in the Hole than Japan, that would make Japan the Richer of the two.

In dollar value for land and infrastructure Japan is worth about a hundred times the simple monetary value of America. In contributions to world peace, medicine and science Japan is worth about a thousand times the value of America's contributions. In value of people, art and culture Japan's value rating above America's is astronomical. Japan has a recorded history that goes back 10,000 years, and those same genetically identical people are still here, unbeaten after savage attacks by atomic bombs that murdered 100,000s of people in blinding flashes, after which there was no spiteful vengeance, they just got on with their lives, how can a people be so peaceful and forgiving - that in itself should be a lesson for the world. Think of the value of that.

I think the US is still richer in gross national product and per capita income, but the gap is narrowing, Japan is rapidly closing the gap. You get rich by investing your economic surplus in building your economy, not by starting stupid needless wars, so Japan and Europe are getting richer and the US is lagging.

I don't know, as I haven't. really compared Japan's economy to that of the United States in recent years. If you would have asked that question in the 80s, I would have said Japan hands down (as at that time, a lot of Japanese firms were investing in the US).

USA has a large economy, but by far the richest debt in the world. If China alone called in its loans to the US, the US government would collapse because it would have no money.
Although the US might just invade to get out of paying.
