Van Halen singers, who do you prefer? I liked both of em, was a big Sam fan and a VH fan so when the 2 got together it was like surger on cheerios for me.Sammy is still going and sounding great still

I liked DLR's energy and "rock" style but I liked SH's personality a lot better... So, I guess I like both too depending on what I'm in the mood for!

Okay, in his favor, Hagar is an excellent guitarist in his own right, and technically A better vocalist that David Lee Roth. I also was a fan of the Red Rocker before his VH days. Still, to me, the lead singer of Van Halen is David Lee Roth. He is the standard by which rock and roll frontmen are measured. He is also the man by which all cases of Lead Vocalist Syndrome are measured. There's no denying he's an arrogant, overbearing jackass, but that is actually in the Frontman job description. He just did it bigger than anyone else. Gary Cherrone? He's completely irrelevant.

Both But if I had to choose I would choose David Lee Roth but I still Love Vah Halen with Sammy Hagar!

I`ve seen them both and Sammy is good by himself and Ok with Vanhalen. David Lee Roth was a better showman than Sammy. I`d have to go with David Lee Roth. He made VanHalen what they are. Oh yea and Eddie 2!!!
