Yes it does ask any nurse who works in a Dementia unit of an aged care facility or a mental facility or as has been said an emergency department of a hospital. It heightens the residents activity and mental state causing them to be hyperactive.

The human body is over 90% water and as such is affected slightly by the moon and their judgement and mental state is affected.

Full Moons are traditionally associated with temporal insomnia, insanity (hence the terms lunacy and lunatic) and various magical phenomena such as lycanthropy. On a full moon the moon is in opposition to the sun, thus indicating that one's inner world of feelings and outer persona and expression may be in conflict with each other.

Psychologists have found that there is no strong evidence for effects on behaviour around Full Moon. They find that studies are not consistent, with some showing a positive effect, while others will show a negative effect. In one instance, the December 23, 2000 issue of the British Medical Journal published two studies on dog bite admission to hospitals in England and Australia. The study of the Bradford Royal Infirmary found that dog bites were twice as common at Full Moon, while the study of public hospitals in Australia found they were less likely at Full Moon. Psychologists point out that there is a difference between correlation and causation. The mere fact that two events happen at the same time doesn't mean that there is a cause and effect relationship between the two.

The moon influences major bodies of water on this planet, (heard of the tides?) and our bodies consist of an awful lot of water.... when I worked at the mental health center the number of crises calls most definitely increased during the times of full moon I can also tell you that the day after the full moon phase people tend to drive a lot faster and more erratically... just check your own moon phases for a while, it'll surprise you.

Absolutely.

I am an atheist. I think Astrology is crap.

BUT - I will get in these really weird moods. I've learned to go outside and check. 9 times out of ten, the moon is full. I'm kind of absent-minded when it comes to time, so I do not believe that I am subconciously keeping track of the lunar cycle. Not very scientific, i know, but it has happened enough that I have become a believer, at least for myself.

Sorry folks but I think you are wrong .
If the moon effects the tide in the ocean ,and we are composed of mostly water then why not .
I ask a doctor that worked with mental patients about it and he said they had to give more people sedatives when there was a full moon because they got to excited.

I don't understand the dynamics of it, but as a teacher, (20 years of it) I can vouch for the fact that kids tend to be more wound up during a full moon. And my brother, who's an ER doc has often said that the ER is busiest on nights with a full moon.

The moon contols the tides, so there is that definite pull there.
The human body, is made up of mostly water, so the Moon, could have some effect on people.
The police seem to think so, and I'm sure it does. Whether or not, there is a spike in the crime rate, or of craziness, who knows.
But they aren't called "Lunatics" for nothing, Luna, latin for Moon.

It does have an affect on people, look at mood disorder, people do fluctuate because of the time of the month and there are meant to be more aggressive incidents when the moon is phat
