In the beginning a choice was made. I'm afraid sickness is one of the effects of a choice poorly made. It doesn't mean God loves us any less or that he doesn't have the power to stop it. Think about it this way. If God healed every sick person then He would be taking away the consequence of our choice, in effect taking away the choice. He's not going to take away our freedom to choose just because we made a bad choice. God is called our Holy Father for a reason. Loving parents needs to allow their children to learn from their mistakes.
As to prayers, well, God works in mysterious ways. No human can comprehend his thoughts. Give things time. In the end God will work things out for the best.

I am sorry to say this, but you are a person of little faith, and knowledge about God. When God first created Adam & Eve and placed them in the Garden of Eden, this was paradise. They want for nothing, and there was no such thing as sickness and disease. The only proviso God put on Adam & Eve was that they not eat the fruit from a certain tree, or they will die. Through the obedience of Adam & Eve , death came into the world. God didn't bring it into the world, humans did.
In regard to God NOT answering prayers, I for one can testify that He does indeed answer my prayers, maybe Not in the ways that I want, but in ways I may NOT understand. It is God's will that will be done , not ours.

good question...the reason sick/dying is bad is because we place a negative value to it, obviously b/c we'd rather be healthy & happy.
but there is value in failure, suffering, pain, even death.
they all remind us that life is precious. that every moment is to be cherished.
if we lived forever...who cares what we do today? just be a slouch on a couch.
course that's easy to say if we're not the one's suffering. but look at what happens in response to the suffering...people make choices. they help each other. they heal them. they are their friends, to be with them.
we start foundations, we donate money, we do research.
it is the struggle, and the response to it that matters. from this we gain value as a people. we contribute to what it means to being a part of this life.
what makes a movie interesting? drama. struggle. the greater the stakes, the more interest.
life is the same way.
we are happiest when we overcome our greatest challenges.
now i wish just as you that everyone could be happy and healthy. but that is not going to happen. this is life. this is reality. these are the rules.
God made these rules.
you're going to experience a thing called life. in it are wonderful, amazing things. you meet wonderful people. but in it are also horrible things. you will be challenged to the utmost level. you will question yourself, everything. life will throw things at you you didn't even know existed.
but through it, you will live and you will interact and you will adapt. the the best of your ability. and from that, from all this struggle, we are stronger.
the sick man can be the best friend in your life.
the poorest individual might help you more than the richest businessman.
everyone has value.
everyone has reason.
and there is always hope...the thing waiting just around the corner that we never expected.
everyone has a story.
ask them.
they'll tell you.
and soon, soon you will tell someone yours.
and it will be amazing.

Suffering and death does not prove God doesn't exist but it's quite the opposite.
It all goes back to the beginning. Adam and Eve decided to rebel against God. Why? Because they wanted to be like God. Sounds like today huh? It's always been that way. People don't want God. It's all a result of the curse. People are going to die anyways, regardless if we get sick and die.
One day, people said they don't want to follow God's laws. Answer? Romans 1 says that God let them do what they want. He basically said, Fine, go ahead and do what you please.
Then guess what? Now people are complaining about all that is happening. You are blaming God for something He did not do but allowed it since people wanted no God telling them what to do.

If people never died, then this planet would have over 45,000,000,000 people on it, over 7 times what it has, and people already complain about over population.
I think that people get minor sicknesses to enhance the emune system, letting them fight stronger diseases and live longer, letting them produce more, and preventing underpopulation, endangerment, and extinction of humanity.
The last part, however, is not true at all. My father was struck ill with a very rare disease, one that nobody knows what causes it, and so there was no cure. But I prayed, and he is almost perfectly healthy again. BTW: I don't know if it matters, but I am Jewish and prayed to "the Jewish g-d," and maybe that's the reason

The problem of evil.
It has been proposed by many a philosopher that with a god, why would god allow evil? We cannot answer this question, for to understand a potential purpose of this universal magnitude is impossible. But there is a way for us to reason with this.
God can be three things:
1)Omnipotent (all powerful)
2)Omni-benevolent (all good)
3)Omniscient (all knowing)
It is said that god is all three. Impossible. Observe:
God can only be two of these things.
>If god is all knowing and all powerful, he cannot also be all good because there is evil.
>If god is all knowing and all good, then he is not all powerful and cannot control evil.
>If god is all good and all powerful, then he is not all knowing, and does not realize the evil.
Because evil does exist (or what is defined as evil by us) only one of these things can be true. If god were all three there would be no evil.
I hope this helped.

Because God is either not benevolent or not omnipotent, he can't be both if sickness, death, disease and predation exist. Prayers are requests that the laws of the universe be repealed....how can that be? Have you noticed that miracles have stopped in the last several decades with the advent of digital cameras and better recording devices....just an observation.

There is God and surley our prayers will be answered if its worth. Asking for every wish to fulfill is not possible but if our prayers are worth God will surley answer them.
People get sick becoz God wants them to know him and to get much more close to him , Because usually eveyone remembers there is God only when they get sick or something bad happen, atleast let them remember him like this.

Death is part of the divine plan. If nothing ever died, think of what the world would be like: wouldn't it be horribly overcrowded? Also, if no one ever died, how would anyone get to Heaven?
As for sickness, do you think we are made of stainless steel? There has to be sickness. It is also part of the divine plan.
Or maybe it isn't. Maybe sickness is the manifestation of Chaos, which is not evil, but natural.
As for prayers, the world follows natural laws. Do you expect God to violate the laws of nature for your benefit, or for anybody's benefit?
