I think it is best to wait till your daughter is older so that she can decide if she wants her ears piereced or not. It's not right to do something like that just because you like it. It should be her choice. So i'd wait till she is old enough to make that decision.

The best time to pierce a baby daughter's ears is at the exact same time her twin brother is being circumcized.

The sooner the physical pain that infants can neither understand nor process, the better.

Plus, it's always great to alter the bodies of people before they have any say in the matter. Who cares if your daughter wants pierced ears? Do it while she has no vote in the matter, and let her live with your choice.

Right on!

I had my daughters ears pierced @ 5 months. I had the girls use 2 "guns" so that it was pierced at 1 time. She cried for a minute but after that, she was fine. She is 3 yrs old now and I glad I did it when she was a infant...good luck!

I did it my self to my daugther when she was 10 days!!!! She cry a little on the last one but just a bit !!!! She is almost 6 and never got infected !!! I think the earlier the best !! But do not put only gold earings once you put them the first time, try to change it in about a week or two for silver or the cheap earings that way she will get used to it & will not get infected!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

my parents did mine when i was 8 months old. but from the adult who had them done as a baby's perspective.....i wish they wouldn't have done it. i don't like it, and ever since i could protest i have and never wear earings. something that drastic should be left up to the kid when they are older. also after they did that i started having bad ear infections constantly and turns out that piercing can cause changes like that. it's been proven earrings change the way you hear and can give ear infections, and belly button piercings can cause tummy aches. i hope you think about this before you do it, my parents have regretted it since they did it to me. and again i wish they'd never done it.

I had my ears pierced when I was around 3, and I can honestly say, I am so glad she did it then. almost all girls are probably going to want their ears pierced! I think the earlier, the better! Most likely, she won't even remember! and you wont have to go through her being scared of getting them pierced when shes older! so, as you can see, Im for getting your child's ears pierced.

I just want to smack parents when I see this! You have enough to worry about with teething, gas, wet diapers, and just plain fussiness. Why add peircing your daughter's ears on top of it? You will have to cleanse and turn the backing daily. Can you see a newborn being patient enough for you to do that? You can't even clip their nails unless they are asleep! When they are old enough to take care of it themselves, as well as a possible infection, then go ahead if that's what they want.

I had my daughters ears done when she was 4 months old. Never had any problems with them either. Everybody told me that I should have left the decsion up to her, but she is now 4 years old and she loves them. We change them to match her outfits and she picks them out.

I don't think it's right to get the babies ears pieced, this is only my opinion I believe when they are old enough to ask or get it done they should make the decision for there self
