Are you willing to relocate? Based on the want-ads in the paper I'd say Texas is hurting for nurses, so maybe it's easier to get into a program here.

Well do you have all your pre-reqs finished? Like chem, oral & written communications, anatomy?

There are always waiting lists - esp. in the health field. Take other courses that would apply in the meantime. Or take your CNA and work as a nursing asst. while you wait. It's not too early to study, and make sure you know the computer programs well like word and powerpoint bc you can use them when you do your presentations in class.

Even the dental programs as some school are going out 4 to 5 yrs. and some are closed til they can find enough money & instructors. With so many people out of work and needing to retrain for new jobs, it's tough out there.

ask if they have any other programs. my college had a full time nursing program and a part time one, you had to apply seperately. if not you can always see if there are other schools offering nursing
