Actually you probably gave yourself an infection from wearing those suffocating pads. Pads are fine as long as you practice good hygeine and change them often, but they also keep air away and that can breed bacteria. Tampons are a very good alternative but you need to change them as necessary, I'd go about every 6 hours. The infection won't go away by itself, you will need to see the doctor to get some antibiotics. a fishy odor usually denotes a bacterial infection, along with excessive whitish or greyish discharge.

the white discharge is normal and if it continues to be very odorous or there is excessive amounts then i would go to the doctor.. but it sounds like its fairly normal to me. i would suggest switching to tampons because its more sanitary and the blood won't have to sit against your skin and in your vagina. just keep the area pretty clean and use a feminine powder, wipe, or spray to keep it smelling nice if you need to

Yeast infection. Go to the doctor or just get some monistat and use it everyday for a week. If it persist then go to the OB/GYN.
