This was a regular recurrent theme on Enterprise. That decon chamber Phlox used had the most of the "underwear" scenes.

I think the episode, "Aquisition", had Trip running around the ship in his underwear for almost the whole thing!

That was a hilarious joke about cling ons, either the Answerer meant the underwear clings or your replicated crap clings to your butt piece. HA.

That's weird though, they never show the viewer a bathroom scene or a bathroom door. I think for comfort they wear underwear or the pajama type clothes they wear just has extra padding in the crotch and toushey zones!!
