Because they are dreaming they are running to their parents to give the parent(s) a hug. Or they are dreaming of a collosal ice cream cone and want to hug that. Or they keep farting in their sleep and their sunconscious is trying to throw the arms up to cover the nose.

I'm almost fifty and I still sleep with my arms up. I think I *am* surrendering. Five years of Bush, take me now, Lord....

i have no clue my 15 month old sleeps with his arms under him and my 2 month old sleeps with his ares up. i guess its just how thay feel comfortable

my son used to sleep like that but i don't care why, i just care that he sleeps through the night now and I don't have to get up every hour any more!!!!
