maybe have an ice cream day and on that day people come up with different kinds (flavours) of new ice cream hahaha... and give away free ice cream too!! have ice cream fights and all.. i love ice cream! sorry quite stupid

National Ice Cream Day was on July 16 but I guess it can happen in August as well.

Damn It's Hot day. Everyone gets the day off to go swimming and we give each other gifts to keep cool, like air conditioners, fans, popsicles, and swimsuits. Either that or a traditional pagan holiday that I can't spell LOL it's on August 2nd and celebrates the first harvest of the year.. beings with an L.

We could have a holiday called Festival or August Festival. It would be the last day of summer before the fall, and people could celebrate by doing traditionally summer things before it gets too cold.

summers end blow out the biggest bar b cue and ice cream social in the world on a hot day near a wonderful swimming pool with jacuzzi and ETC

We need a national Dog Day - have you heard of the dog days of summer - well, Aug 1 would be a great Dog Day.

How about one for the fellas? All we really have is Fathers day..
Valentines, Mothers day, and Sweetest day are really more for the ladies...
So something for the guys..even the ones that are'nt dads..But with fireworks.....and cookouts..and a 3 day weekend and a bonfire and keg.....and presents, manly presents like tools and pocket tee shirts, pressure washers and hubcaps...
we can call it "Who-da-man?" day"

A national Picnic Day. I could really see it getting popular...group picnics, office picnics, family picnics...everyone would just stop and have a picnic on this day. I can see the hallmark cards and weekend sales now...
