i have a friend who was living in new york at the time and she mentioned this recently. i hadn't noticed it myself and thought it was suspiciously interesting.

in reply to some of the responses:
yeah, i really don't believe he was acutually elected either. not even the second time.

i personally think the terrorist alerts were a scare tactic used in attempt to get more votes. keep the people fearful and they will agree to a heroic plan of protection that is laced with profits for bigtime players.

maybe they will use them in high profile again for the next republican candidate.?...be interesting to see.

Randi Rhodes (from Air America Radio ) calls stuff like this "Operation Look Over There".
It's a distraction meant to keep us scared so we will support any measure they deem nessesary to secure "freedom". It's all to support the strict father-figure model. If we're scared, we'll do anything to feel safe.

Maybe that's because everyone knows it's just a bunch of BS. If We were suddenly to be attacked, and the Color was on Yellow... they'd never let that monkey in the White House Forget it! On the other hand, the way it's designed, we'd NEVER, EVER be put into the Blue or Green Sections... so what's the Point!?

Even the right wing beacon of ignorance Fox News has stopped with that silly crap.

I guess Bush finally got around to reading The Boy Who cried Wolf.

What does Bush being elected a second term have to do with color code? Not trying to be mean...just trying to understand your curiosity.

It's all hog wash......and the violence is coming here....NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR CODE SAYS!!! THE US GOVERNMENT IS SO CORRUPT....HOW CAN ANYONE BELIEVE A WORD SPOKEN BY ANYONE IN GOVERNMENT?????

It's still there, it just hasn't done anything dramatic. We've been in yellow for the the last few years, with a couple orange exceptions that I noticed.

It's because current administration is blind.

They tried creating a smell based descriptions, but decided it would be too demoralizing to describe current situation as "Sh!t" and just dropped it all together.

no they haven't. they just haven't been broadcast like they used to. you can STILL see them on the scrolling news headlines on the bottom of Fox News, CNN and Headline News. You can still see them if you go to certain federal websites. look again.
according to the Dept. of Homeland Security... the threat level is yellow...
