No... well kinda.... Here's the deal.
Each manufacturer has a set list of paint colors they offer. You can ORDER your car with any of those paint colors. But only those paint colors. After you get your car, you can have a body shop paint it any color you want, but that's what's called an "after-market" paint job. So technically no, it can't be ordered from the manufacturer with any paint but their normal colors, but its easy to find a body shop that will do that for you.

Way back in the 50's, 60's and 70's General Motors would custom paint a customer's ordered vehicle providing a fleet of vehicles were ordered.
As time progressed, and automation reduced the number of old time real human car painters,
It became much cheaper to paint the cars a basic color or even just the electrostatic primers and have a outside source paint the vehicle to your specifications.

As far as I know most manufactures offer a set selection of colors depending on which vehicle you are looking at and they are usually printed in the brochure that advertises the vehicle.Of course there's nothing stopping you from having the car repainted to any color you want after you buy it except for the fact that the dealer may give you a hard time if you submit a rust through warranty claim on the grounds that the factory paint is no longer protecting the body.

No, not from the dealer/factory. You can order a car in white and then paint it whatever color you want after you take it home, thus voiding the manufacturer's paint and rust warranty. But when you buy a new car, you have to take it in one of the factory colors. In many cases, you won't even have a full choice of colors, depending on how hard it is for the dealer to get cars. It's not like a pizza, you can "order" it, but you aren't guaranteed delivery.

Generally cars coming from the factory can only be done in preselected colors as they are not equipped for custom ordering. However, your dealer can probably arrange for a custom after-market paint job but you would be better off doing this on your own. You'll save by cutting out the middle man.

Yes you can. If you are a customer willing to pay whatever the dealer advises you, then you are a candidate for any color vehicle, accessories, etc. are available. Yes, you may pay extra for the color, etc. but if this is not an issue - then by all means - go for it!

No, actually, you can't. We just ordered a new Corvette and we had to choose from the colors they have. If you want a custom color, after you take delivery on the vehicle, you can have it painted.

generally, when you're ordering from a manufacturer, you can only get your car in the colors that they offer. if you want something different, you'd have to go to a custom body shop, like the type of place that they take cars to on "Pimp My Ride."

no. each model of car comes in a set of colors which they can show you at a car dealership. if you want a color that isn't offered for that car, you must take it to a shop that sprays custom colors.

You can custom order any color you want if you are willing to pay the price, and the dealership will severly over charge you.

Sure, but knowing the rapist tendencys of dealerships, you are better off finding out the cost of doing so, and then finding and comparing the difference that an independent body shop would charge to just paint the car the way you want...
...just at thought.
