Did this lady deserve this? Why are police so quick to tase citizens?

I think police tasers should be used only in deadly situations. Right now the police can use tasers on citizens for minor reasons. Putting 50,000 volts of electricity through a person over a minor reason is ridiculous. Tasers need to be banned from police agencies.

I have seen so many videos like that one was a 16 year old girl and no they didn't deserve it it's called POWER TRIP and a lot of cops are on it.

I can't view it from work, but if it is the one I think it is, where the biotch was beligerent and combative, then I support the police officer.

I just watched it again, and the police officer did the right thing, and followed procedure. The driver of the car was in the wrong, refused to do as she was instructed, was belligerant and has no concept of the law, was combative and resisted arrest. And to top it all off, she tried to pull the BS *RACE* card, rather than having the courage to accept responsibility for her actions.

I know I won't probably get best answer, because I am disagreeing with you, but at least in this case, the taser was warranted.

I read the comments, and some of them are hillarious. You can really tell the slackers who don't respect authorty, yet they are the ones who whine the loudest when they are victims.

And the officer does not need to wait for a criminal to quit using the cell phone before he arrests the perpetrator.

She was being a pain from the beginning like she can do as she pleases. She was driving 51 in a 35, 4 more miles per hour is reckless driving. Suspended drivers license is her fault not the cops. Ask her to get out of car 5-6 times, she didn't care. Could have pepper spayed her, trust me that sucks. Beat her with club, worse than pepper. Shot her, worst of all. Taser made her listen and get out, with two pin holes. Two misdemeanors and bad attitude with judge, each can be 364 days in jail(728days). Out law taser they will have to use the other methods. What would have been a better solution? Her listening and doing as he says, he might have gave warning. Law is what keeps things civil, act uncivil they don't have much choice. I feel sorry for cops they have to put up with ignorant people and not get mad, I couldn't do it.

The Tasers should be banned, this cop did not let the lady hang up her phone when he was "arresting" her. Besides how in this world can she put the arms in her back after being paralyzed with 50k volts?

Kinda reminds me of the Rodney King incident. Even though the 22 year old woman was very combative, I think there should be something else that could have been done. 50,000 volts !!!!!!!
People have died with less than that !
But, she REALLY should have followed the Officers instructions, and it wouldn't have happened like that.
One of my neighbors is a cop, and I hear all kinds of really weird things that people try to pull on cops, and they have to protect themselves from the possibility of just about anything.

That made me violently ill. Some people just don't know how to handle authority and shouldn't have any. I'm sure that there was alot of different ways the officer could have handled this situation.

whats the problem??? that she was blowin the requests off so i know the cop used this means as a last resort she wanted to say the cops are racists naw thats what blacks always say when theyre wrong i hope her case got dismissed

Oh my God! Is that video real?? That was horrible. Yes of course she should have gotten out of the car when he told her to but she didn't deserve that!! That was awful!
