Do you remember the old childhood rhyme that went...Bobby and Susie sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G. FIRST comes LOVE, THEN comes MARRIAGE, THEN comes a BABY in a Baby carriage. Am I the only person here who met a guy in College, fell in love, graduated, married, bought a house, opened a saving account...THEN had a baby? Does ANYONE do that anymore?

I wish I could say they all di. People prefer to have a wife or husband of the same sex or some bullshit like that or only care about their work or stciking a stick in a hole. Sorry.

Well I met a guy in college, fell in love, got married, bought a house, graduated, sold a house, divorced the bastard, got a better job than I ever had when I was saddled with the bastard, put some money in savings, met another guy, shacked up with him and now we're planning a baby and a life together... without marriage. Don't get me wrong, marriage is fine for the people that want it, but I'm old enough to make my own decisions and it's nobody else's business. If that makes me abnormal, so be it.

These days, opening the savings account is less likely than waiting until after marriage to have a baby. The savings rate for the first quarter of 2006 was negative .7% (meaning people who had savings took it out or used credit).
We fell in love, got married, fell in love again, had a baby after 7 years, had another, probably will have more. Oh, we have a savings account too. :)

Yes we do. But every one is entitled to do things there way it is there choice be thankful things worked out for you. You are lucky. But just because things did not go according to the plan with someone else does not mean they are not normal. Things happen.

I can't believe that someone who is college educated is basing their ideal of normal on a nursery rhyme. And what do you care what others do anyway?
Obviously, education is not the cure for self rightous ignorance.

pretty interesting, my husband and I are the only ones who have done it that way too. I wouldn't say normal, I would just say that's the old fashioned way. Now, I think as long as people are happy, then good for them! :)

I did the same thing you did. To each his or her own, but in my opinion the old fashioned way is still the best way.

Why do you feel that's the only definition of normal?
