Take some deep breaths. Try to take the lotus position and meditate for a while. Think about your feelings and problems, try to figure out what's bothering you most, and what about it bothers you.

Are you bothered that your bothered? If so, consider that there's no reason to be, that everyone gets distressed sometimes.

You're probably saying to yourself about something, "this is awful" or "I can't stand this" or "this must not happen." Think about this. What evidence is there that it is "awful", that you can't stand it, or that it *must not* happen? It has or is happening. It may be disappointing, unfortunate, deplorable, displeasing, even very much so, but it is not "terrible", and you can stand it with practice. Identify what you can do about it, and do it. If there's nothing, accept it.

Stop putting yourself and others down about what you or they have or haven't done. No one has the ability to judge a person as a whole. Refocus your evaluations on your actions or their actions, tell yourself that while those actions are disappointing, that hardly makes you or them worthless.

Figure out all the things that are contributing to your stress. If there are things you need to do make a list and prepare to check it off rather than leaving it "in your head". If there are things you can't do anything about right now you have to "file" them in a "hold" file in your mind and for now put them in the back of your mind and try to think of more stuff or things that you can do. Once you've listed the things that cause the stress, done what you can to get rid of some of the things, "mentally filed" the things that you can't take action on today, and made plans to maybe eliminate some of the things another time; then you need to 1) think of something else and something that is more pleasant, 2) find something (a tv show or two) that makes you laugh and make sure you get your daily laughter, 3) set aside time each night to listen to the kind of music that makes you calm down, 3) eat foods that naturally help stress (tuna salad or a little chocolate have calming substances), make sure you're getting enough sleep, get out and get fresh air at least once during a day, exercise if it makes you feel better but people who are extremely stressed out for too long can suffer from adrenal fatigue, which makes exercise depleting rather than invigorating.

Just relax. Drink water. Take a walk. Forget about the negatives in life for the moment.

I enjoy reading or going for a peaceful walk. It is amazing how beautiful the birds sing and how nice the roses smell. Why don't uou listen to the singing of flying songsters and stop to smell the roses; it is heavenly.

Deep breaths and think, why be so stressed, whatever it is, it's not worth you feeling like that. Tell yourself you're not stressed, keep saying it til you feel that it's true.
