It was fun when it was more popular, but I'm kind of glad it's underground now. The posers are very easy to spot these days. There's so much good music out there too, I think it was time for the local scenes to get back their followings. Too many people were just waiting for the big concerts and not too many people outside of the larger cities were supporting their own home towns.
Will it ever be popular again? Probably. I mean whoever could have guessed that middle aged white guys with soft voices and a guitar would be so popular and yet so damned annoying?

I am wondering why this question is in beauty and health.
I think that heavy metal is making a come back already, with festivals like the Ozzfest, metal is getting a push in the right direction.
Rap is crap lately it is all machine made.
Now if we can just do away with Emo we can all be happy.

you know it's the oddest thing, but even though trends in clothing, hair, and all manner of other things repeat every few years, trends in music and art are forever changing and almost never repeating. if you look at music thru-out the ages you'll notice that the trends didnt repeat themselves, instead they kept evolving into something else.
heavy metal might be reborn as something similar, but it is unlikely it will every truely have a come-back.
sorry. cant say that i miss it, it was just before my time and i cant stand the sound of it.

If it comes back big then it'll be pop music. Besides, it seems like it's still hip-hop's turn. That should be over soon.

It is by nature an underground genre - many of it's listeners pride themselves on that alone.
