Some people are mean because all do not behave in the similar way. It is the complex within that shapes their meanness which is expressed through their conduct of jealousy, hatred, conceit, greed, and meanness. It is due to ego and ignorance which are the cause and the consequence, respectively.

We are most certainly not all the same. Although everyone being equal is a nice ideal, some people are better than others. For example, who's better? Gandhi or Paris Hilton?
To answer your other question, people are mean because they have a unrealistic sense of self-worth. They feel that they're better than others and that gives them the right to treat everyone else like crap. Unfortunately, mean people are usually stupid as well so it's almost impossible to convince them that they're rude jerks.

We are not all the same, by any means. We have a free will to choose in what direction we want to go. Many choose evil and are only interested in being self-satisfied. Some enjoy the problems and struggles of others. These are the "mean" people. They are not at all interested in a free and peaceful world.
This is called, "schadenfreude," a German word that means taking pleasure in someone else's misfortunes.

No we are not all the same. Yes we are all human. But, that is where the similarity ends. I don't even understand a comment like this.
Are you saying that I, a tax paying, law abiding, American mother of 2 is the same as the terrorists over in the Middle East? Am I like the mothers who willing straps on a bomb and walks into a crowded cafe to kill herself and a bunch of other peoples family members. Or how about the mother that allows her kid to strap on a bomb only to be paid in incremental amounts based on the injuries sustained by the child or for the child's death? Are you comparing me to the illegal aliens who invade my country, ignore our laws, and refuse to pay taxes? Or are you comparing me to the French, who through history have proved that they will turn and run with their tail between their legs when they should stand and fight? Or the Dutch, they are thinking about making pedophilia legal in their country. Would you compare me to them?
If you want to talk about mean, lets talk about how Saddam murdered, tortured, and raped his own people. How about the dictator of North Korea? He starves his people to serve his own agenda. Those men are an example of what a mean and evil person is. Would YOU want to be compared to them?
No, we are all not the same. I thank God for that!

I think we can share some of the same feelings but we are not really the same. There are good people and there are bad people ,there are smart people there are dumb people, there are attractive people and there are unattractive people, there are skinny people and there are fat people, there are rich people and there are poor people. And the list can go on and on
Sorry but this is how the world is.

We are not the same.................................................
I'm entitled to be angry, set-off, and displeased by every simplistic instance of idiocy, such as "We're all one big happy family!"
People are dying, people are enslaved, in prison, abused, raped, mistreated, exploited, thrown onto funeral pyres, drugged, indoctrinated, and made into scapegoats constantly.......
You cannot just sit by and watch genocide happen. You cannot sit around and wait to vote for a politician that maybe may make something happen. This toleration of violent negligence and 'ignorance is bliss' crap is the Really Mean Sh*t.

people are often mean due to their own insecurities which they then project onto other people.
This kind of mean behavior prevents them from "taking a good hard look at themselves"
However, i do not believe we are all the same...imagine how boring that would be.
DIVERSITY is the spice of life and i say : EMBRACE IT - DO NOT FOCUS ON WHAT IS DIFFERENT BUT RATHER ON WHAT BINDS US TOGETHER AS A HUMAN RACE>

We are not all the same--thank goodness. Some are smart, some are smarter, some are tall, some are short, some are mean, others kind. We are all equal, but we are not all the same.
