Be honest with her... but if she is your best friend don't you feel like making time for her?

Tell her again. Tell her that although you would love to see her, there is no way that right now is a good time. IF she still continues to make plans you might have to be more blunt with her. (Blunt doesn't mean rude, just more forward). Tell her that you don't understand why she doesn't understand that she cannot come out right now. Tell her you don't want to hurt her feelings and it has nothing to do with her but you CANNOT make any time at all to see her. If it's because you really just don't want to be around her anymore then you are going to have to tell her that too. She will be hurt but it won't hurt as bad later on down the road when she figures it out on her own. She'll be hurt that you didn't just tell her instead of letting her think there was still a friendship there when there wasn't. We all outgrow certain friends. It's totally normal but you don't have to be mean about ending it. Good luck...:)

Is she still your best friend? sounds not to me... but just let her know that it's really not a good time and if she is really a good friend she'll understand that to come back after a year she'll need to do better... than just dictate the timing

It sounds like she may be your best friend but you're not hers.

Be kind - be gentle - but be honest....it's best for both of you in the long run.
