Everyone is different. First time I used one it just felt awkward, not painful. Don't worry too much about it. I would just try one and see if it hurts. If it does, just toss it. If it doesn't, you won't need to be afraid anymore.

Idf this is your first period, you may just be spotting. Lots of women's first period is very light. You can't be totally sealed up, There is a natural opening in your hymen for the purpose of letting blood out during your perios, although there have been RARE cases of that happening.
I can;t soeak from experience about pain, but the other answers are correct from what I hear. No matter what, your first time is usually uncomfortable to painful.

Okay, so your first time, as in sexual intercourse, you know I honestly cant tell you, but I can tell you it really doesn't make that much of a difference if you are using tampons or not Hun!. Some people find their first time painful, some people find it uncomfortable, and some people just don't have any problems what so ever, so it really depends on the person.

If there's any bleeding at all during your period, then you can't be completely sealed down there. However, you might be partially sealed. The membrane that covers that area is called the hymen. When you go to the doctor for a GYN exam (which you should do before you become sexually active), he or she can tell you how much you hymen covers the vaginal entrance.

Some just naturally don't have one. And some have a pretty serious one that hurts a lot the first time, and maybe a few times after.

Your first time is painful no matter what. Or at least it was for most every woman I talked to.
