Actually, yes -- they aid in the decay process of other animals, allowing the nutrients left in the body to return to the soil, and they provide food for other insects/arachnids and birds, reptiles, etc.

...doesn't make them any less annoying, though.

Every living this does, indeed, have a purpose. Cutting anything out of the food chain can have disastrous effects- even though many people still continue to ruin the environment and kill wildlife.

Some bugs/flies help plants, in turn the flies are eaten by rodents or birds, which are eaten by larger birds or snakes. These larger birds and snakes help keep the other animal populations in check, but if they were to run out of food, they would die too.

There are even certain plants that cannot grow without other specific animals.

Theres a couple good uses. Believe it or not God made everthing have a use we just have to figure out what it is and the cures we may come up with:-)

The maggots of flies eat dead meat and get rid of it, and flies are food for birds and toads.

Yes and no. Yes because they eat noseeums... Tiny microscopic bugs that kill. No because they kill too.
