Every answer somehow places the guilt of losing the job on you.
If only we could reverse this ugly trend, and place the guilt trip where it belongs...on those who keep eliminating workers to get more stock compensation and become bigger and fatter on the backs of working people in need of good paying jobs.
Know thy enemy!
You were probably downsized like I once was, along with everyone else including those who answered before me.
It's not your fault. It's the lousy system.

Pursue your dreams.
Take one day and only one day and be angry over your loss.
The next day, write down everything that you want in life and from your new job. Go to the bookstore or library and pick up a book on self improvement (I recommend Success for Dummies by Zig Ziglar).
Make yourself the best person that you can be and chase your dreams.
