It will be hard on your daughter to be away from you for 8 months. If at all possible, can you take her with you and get a sitter wherever you'll be at? If not, then I assume the relationship between you, your mom and your daughter is good, If so, then this is the second best alternative. Good luck. And remember that at 2 years old, when you return in 8 months, she may not remember you too well.

There's no problem with leaving your daughter with your Mother. If you take her with you then you may not be able to give your attention to your daughter as well as to your work or study.

Your Mother has taken well care of you and she would still feel happy to take care of your daughter, because your daughter is her blood also. She will see your childhood in your daughter once again. I think she wil enjoy it.

Only if your daughter and your mother get along really well, if your daughter is mature enough to understand this is only a temporary separation, and if you can afford to visit her at least once a month. And, of course, as long as she can talk to you by phone as needed.

Do you trust your mom to help raise your daughter?
Is there anyone in your mom's circle of friends that gives you the creeps?
Will you be able to see your daughter in the meantime?
Will you be able to talk to your daughter online - webcam / phone?

Trust your gut above all else.

I say no, I left my daughter with my mom for a couple months and it took me 5 years to get her back. Make sure you'll get her back.

Yes. If she is willing to take on the responsibilty I see nothing wrong with it. Your mom wants you to have a better life for you and your child. Anytime you can get an education you are improving your skill set for future employment.

Well you can trust your own blood better than any stranger out there. Plus, she volunteered, so it's not like your dumping the child on her. I say yes.
