I used to take computers apart all the time with no fear. The other day, an older CRT monitor burned up. Now I am afraid of turning regular monitors on, and I had to replace a power supply on a computer, but I am just terrified of turning it on.I know my fears are illogical, but I still feel terrified about a computer catching fire. What can I do? I feel so stupid.

Keep a fire extinguisher close by, and have a friend double check your work and be there for support, you'll get over this with time.

Get yourself a fire extinguisher, put it in close proximity and go for it.
Do not let the fear rule you. If it gets much worse, a little therapy might help.
