Rabbit, the civilized one, showed Pooh how to keep honey in jars. This makes it easier for Pooh to eat it. Otherwise, it would just be all over the floor. Pooh has paws, not hands, so he can't use a spoon.

I don't think he had a spoon large enough to carry enough honey he wants per bite. Also it would be harder to manipulate, since he lacks fingers, aside from a thumb. I don't think he uses jars for civility as much as practical storage. We all know how difficult it is for him to get honey from the tree as is. It wouldnt be worth it just go through that ordeal three times a day (or more if you count elevenses and snacks), No wonder he prefers to borrow from Rabbit. :)

without fingers and thumbs, spoons would be hard to use! Pooh really wasnt very civilized, he always dumped his honey pots and was quite a messy eater!

No need for spoons!
Its more fun to eat it off your hands anyway and takes too much time and organization to find the spoons anyway.
When you have a rumbly in your tumbly, time is of the essence.

pooh had a thumb and a freak-accident 'club-like' paw. use a spoon in honey with that kind of disability.

He didn't always eat out of the jars, sometimes he ate right out of the hive. Have you ever eaten ANYTHING without a utensil? I'm sure we all have.

He could not hold the spoon. He did not have any fingers, just a thumb.
