Maybe to make you both happy you could paint the room a coordinating color with a sponge bob wall paper boarder. When she then decides it's time to change then you only have a small amount of modifying. They also make a wall paper boarder sticker, easy to put on, easy to remove.

I wanted Pacman wallpaper at that age and my parents said no. It still stings :) But it wasn't too long until I was into other things. If it makes her happy do it. You can always change it. Or find a border as opposed to doing all the walls.
