Dress for yourself not other for people. If they laugh at you for being different then you can laugh at them for being all the same.

Wear something that flatters your figure but doesn't make you look desperate. Be pretty! The first day is the most important of them all, because it's the time when you either make a good or bad first impression. I'm not going to start listing off the items I think you should wear, because it's ultimately up to you to decide what clothes make you look stylish and comfortable.

i have the same situation as you, but im a guy
all i can say is that i would really be impressed by a girl looking semi-casual, cause if you dress really nice the first day, and not as formal after that, i know I'd be dissapointed

I just say Dress to Impress be comfortable. I would wear a name brand outfit or shirt at least. Good Luck this year!

i could positioned on maybe a plaid shirt from American eagle or hollister, and easily some inexpensive gorgeous previous military turn flops. i does not positioned on something like a sort on your shirt (like a shirt that in basic terms says "hollister cal est.1998) that thank you to little kidish and middle college like. yet donning some inexpensive turn flops will make it look such as you didnt attempt to hard on the 1st day of faculty. Or positioned on a tank genuine with a sweater from like invariably 21 (inexpensive and gorgeous).

supposedly what you wear on the first day make people see how you will dress for the rest of the year. i say something confterble. and yet shows you are unique. play around with accesories.

I always dressed nice for the first day of school but comfy too. I don't want to be uncomfy all day lol

one year in high school, i wore one of my favorite outfits to school on the first day. then 2 days later, i wore a completely goth outfit w/ a neon blue wig and knee high hooker boots. point is, i just had fun with it all. people are attracted to people who aren't afraid to break from the normal states of life.
if that's not you, wear your absolute favorite shirt w/ you favorite pant or skirt. you can't lose because YOU love your outfit!

casual and comfortable. you will have too many other things to worry about on day one.
and wear comfy shoes, you wont know how much walking you will have to do the first day.
