If you ride a motorcycle on the road you need a motorcycle license. Look up on the internet for Motorcycle License or go to the DMV abd get the study material. If you ride in the trails you don't need one. When you do ride make sure you have the proper equipment to make sure you are always safe. Motorcycles can be very dangerous. Try to ride with someone as well incase anything should go wrong. Have water with you,etc in case you are broken down, fell, motorcycle takes a dump or whatever. Be safe and Happy Motorcycling.

You may find your car license will let you ride a motorcycle as either a learner or on restricted capacity or power. You may also have other restrictions as a learner e.g. in UK you are not allowed to take pillion passengers as a learner unless the passenger possesses a full bike license.

You may also need to put ID on the bike, L plates, etc.

The easiest way to find out is to contact your licensing authority or local cop shop.

Remember also, you almost certainly won't be insured for riding a bike even if your license covers it and you have third party car insurance.

Yes. You need to get a motorcycle permit, then go for your license. You have to pass the written test and the road test, just like a license to drive a car.

Yes, you need to take a seperate driving test and written exam to get a motorcycle license. Though it may differ from state to state, I'm pretty sure that at the bare minimum you have to take a motorcycle road test.

In some states, yes, in some states, no. North Carolina lets you ride a motorcycle with an operator license. Tennessee requires you to get a seperate endorsement on your license.

Yes. You need a separate license called Motorcycle Operator. Get one at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) - where you get a regular (automobile) license.
