Having an argument with my co-worker who says,"black with black, brown with brown, no exceptions". What's everybody else's take on that?

Absolutely not. Fashion is about mixing colors and wearing what you like. Back in the day you had to wear matching shoes, hand bag, and belt to be fashionably correct, not any more. Wear what you think you look good in and don't allow anyone to dictate your fashion style to you.

I always like to match.I think It shows that I have a sense of style. If your co-worker wants to match let her. If she is telling you to match it's your choice weather you want to or not. There are exceptions. You can't mach every day of your life. You have to live with what you have. If your clothes match then let them match. It depends on what you wear. If your purse has a variety of colors, pick one and find a belt and a pair of shoes to match with it, but since this purse has a few different other colors it can match easily with anything.

no, your purse/shoes/belt do NOT have to be the same color to match. you could mix it up with, say, a black-and-white purse, black shoes, and white belt. or, just use different colors for each that tie into the colors of a pattern on your shirt. there's lots of ways to match clothes without going same-color-psycho =D

I think that your belt should always match with your shoes but it dosent really matter if your purse matches the color your wearing as long as it goes with the outfit you have on and looks good!

You suppose to match all the accessories. I agree. Purse, Shoes, Belts all suppose to be the same color. If your were in the south durning the winter then you add gloves, scarf, hat,

I don't think it matters anymore if everything matches, unless of course it's formal, then it does. Personally, I use my purses by the season, and that way they seem to coordinate with whatever else I'm wearing.

I don' t think it's a strict rule. Live your life and just go with what you like to wear. I might make an exception if it's a semi-formal or formal occasion but for casual stuff; don't worry about it.

I say black with black but does it REALLY have to match? To me...people that have to have matching patterns/fabric with their accessories look like they're trying too hard and look ridiculous in the end.

SIMPLIFY!
