even if you delete your history and cookies there are other hidden files that keep history as well, along with if your at work the router keeps track of all the web pages visited, along with the IP that visited them, and not to mention from there they know what computer will probably have that IP, if it is a given IP - then the DHCP server will have the MAC address - which is a permanent address on your NIC card so they will know who it is from that.

If the admin is curious enough or is assigned to keep tabs on where you've been, then it will happen regardless of what you may try to do. There are programs to install so that keyloggers and other tattle tail programs don't work right, but they will soon be found and uninstalled if the admin is smart and suspects. And if your machine goes out to the Internet via a gateway or proxy (isn't directly connected as a stand alone), the admin will simply log all the IP requests from your machine's address at the point that they are passed to the gateway or proxy. No way to deny that one. Sorry, but you are probably cornered and it has nothing to do with cookies.

Potentially yes. Even if you properly delete all evidence on your local machine of where/what you've been doing across a network, the network server itself could have been logging / tracking any information you sent through the network.
While this may not be the case, it is a definite possibility.

If he wants to know, nothing short of a government level multiple write program will stop him.
Yes, he can.
If he's willing to spend the time.
But the question is - does he care that you look at tabboo but not illegal stuff?
